I FEAR FOR

A youth
Whose time is spent blaming the government
Whose time is invested in digging unnecessary tunnels
The greater part of whose time is spent on frivolities
Who has little or no concern for development
Whose heart is devoid of the remembrance of his Lord
To whom the world’s encyclopedia is dearer than the Qur’an
The greater part of whose meditation time is spent thinking of other than Allah(s.w.t)
Who is diverted from the remembrance of the akhirah by his crave for the duniya
Who chases the success of the duniya and neglects his lord,
Who rushes or combines Solat so he could spend time enjoying
Who cares not about what he says
Know he not that there is not a word spoken except that it be recorded and accounted for?
Know he not that the success he so much wants lies in the hand of the one from whom he flees?
Know he not that he would be called to account and recompensed for all that his hand has sent forth?
And our lord is never unjust to anyone.

GENDER EQUALITY AS A BONE OF CONTENTION BETWEEN BOTH GENDERS

This topic for an argument is as null and void, in my opinion, as some other topics that we would debate over in school examples of which includes ‘boys are better than girls’, ‘farmers are better and doctors’, etc. In an argument like ‘farmers are better than doctors’, what differentiation are we trying to make between the farmers and the doctors? With what do we intend to raise the status of the farmers over the doctors? The farmers have their role to play and a contribution to make in the development process just like the doctors, at some point some of these roles are the same while at other points the differ from one another. Both personalities are needed and we really can’t do with just one of them without the other- the doctors to cater for our health and the farmer to help in producing food for the increasing population alongside other civic duties. TECHNOLOGICAL DELUSION

With the advancement in technology, one would expect life becoming easier, people becoming more efficient but reverse seems to be the case, the invention of mobile devices like Smartphones   that were suppose to increase people’s efficiency is having a negative impact on (some of) them, we have people becoming more lazy, useful times that could be spent on developmental issues are wasted on mobile phones on not-so-important issues like chatting, downloading, uploading, reading unnecessary post, etc. If you interpret this to mean that social networking is bad, you’re wrong. Chatting of course is a cheap means of   connecting people, what I am saying is that for a youth, spending too much time on this could be destructive especially when it begins to distract one from the original purpose of his/her existence(the worship of Allah(s.w.t)) or one gets addicted to it.
