THE ONE

Who is termed dogmatic for believing in the unseen
Who is proclaimed misguided for the path he choose to follow
Who is said to be “out of fashion” for obeying his lord

Who abstained from eating not for lack of appetite but in obedience and piety
Who is seen walking through the surface of the earth in humility
Who is found restraining anger when it surfaces

To whom fornication seems alluring but chooses to abstain
To whom his lord is dearer than all
To whom jannah is dearer than the duniya
To whom his lord’s book is important than any encyclopedia

Whose head hangs low, at the sight of the opposite sex
Whose night is spent standing in prayer with love, fear and hope
Whose prophet sunna is better than societal norm

Whose tongue and lips are moistened and lightened with the remembrance of his lord
Whose dressing do not exceed the limits ordained
Whose favourite tune is the athan

IS TODAY

Laughing in return to the jesters on raised couches
Putting on garment not comparable to those of the duniya
Drinking from fountains and springs

Eating fruits with endless seasons
Closest to his lord as promised
Granted a pardoning request by his lord for he used to forgive
Sitting on thrones woven with gold and precious stones

Having as wives, females with lovely eyes like unto preserved pearls
Greeted with the saying of peace
Under the protective shade of his lord
Saved from the wailing and distress of the great day
Drinking pure sealed non-intoxicating wine.
From the desk of a creative Muslim
